Executive Function Skills   

We assess and provide instruction to strengthen executive function skills in areas such as planning, organization, flexible thinking, working memory, time management, and self-monitoring in order to improve performance in school and with activities of daily living.

Executive Function skills training targets:

• Improving planning and organization skills

• Improving the ability to effectively carryout plans to complete tasks in a timely manner

• Learning how to manage time around studying and long-term projects and papers

• Using self-evaluation strategies to monitor progress

Reading Instruction

We identify strengths and weaknesses in reading skills and create programs that are customized to boost performance.

Reading instructions targets:​​

• Phonics

• Phonemic awareness

• Decoding

• Fluency

• Comprehension

• Critical Reading

• Higher order thinking skills (e.g, making predictions, drawing conclusions, making inferences)

Writing Instruction

We identify strengths and weaknesses in writing skills and create programs that are customized to boost performance.

• Brainstorming and planning

• Organization and structure

• Grammar

• Word choice

• Mechanics

• Editing and Rewriting

Memory & Processing   ​​

We enhance memory and processing skills to help students recall, retain and process auditory and visual information.

The following strategies are used to improve memory and processing skills:

• Rehearsal and chunking

• Visualizing

• Paraphrasing

• Identifying key concepts in sentences, passages and lengthier written material

• Creating checklists

• Graphing and charting

Academic Support         

We provide strategies, tips and techniques to promote effective and efficient learning while completing daily homework.  We also assist with test preparation as well as planning and executing long-term projects and written assignments.

Language

We address language skills to build oral and written expression. 

Language training targets:
